Nueva Forma has readied their 12th episode:

"The Bear and The Sea closes out the year in style with episode 12 of Listening Pleasures, a mix that could easily be on par with summer, but has all the fixings of a winter wonderland, too. Included are free downloads of Drinking Diamonds, a Bear and The Sea exclusive featuring the gorgeous vocals of Joel Swensen, and Droid Crusher, a title and cut that might be apt for a modern 8-bit video game, brought to you from our newest artist, Del Dot. And if you just can't get enough of The Bear this month, download his instrumental reinterpretation of Silent Night, a synth-y cover that even the Grinch would dig. As always, we hope you enjoy the tunes. Have the happiest of holidays, and see you all in 2011!"

Listening Pleasures, Episode 12

Posted by LLAAPPSSEE - November 23rd, 2010

Nueva Forma has readied their 11th episode:

In just a few short weeks, Creta (formerly known as White Car) will have a new full-length release out titled Closing the Doors of Perception. In leading up to this, we've invited him to curate the latest episode of Listening Pleasures. It's surely a signature Creta mix, a mix that's a bit more experimental than previous episodes, and includes not only three of his older tracks, but gorgeous cuts from iameb 57 and Lapse. A few words from Creta about his episode:

Herman Melvile once said "the eyes are the gateway to the soul." I've always felt music in general, but even more specifically electronic or alternative music was another one of those gateways. These tracks represent a few of those gateways, portals into a world not far removed from our own, and yet seemingly unfamiliar. A glimpse into the world of another lost soul.

Have a listen to the latest aural massage:

This episode includes a track from my album titled, "We've Been Rowing For So Long".

Be sure to check back for Creta's (soon to be) release - It. Will. Be. Excellent.

Listening Pleasures Episode 10

Hello Newgrounders,

I'd like to inform that my first full-length release, "The Living Lucid", by [Lapse] is out! It couldn't be anymore timely as well. As Jupiter is the closest to earth since 1951! Which is exciting (If anyone cares about astronomy as I do) for myself as Voyager 1 footage of Jupiter is the reason for my alias.

If you're into IDM, glitch, ambient and experimental electronic music. Check this out:

"f you want to witness, in a single sitting, the budding and decay of a flower, or perhaps someone driving from Los Angeles to New York City, check out the art of time-lapse photography. If you want to listen to a composer who can successfully and coherently develop a single track through a multitude of concise musical themes, look no further than Lapse. The Living Lucid is not exactly what you'd expect from an IDM artist. Straying from pop sensibilities, the ten cuts on this release have deeper bows to improvising jazz artists of the mid-20th century than to the more immediate predecessors of techno and glitch. Strong polyrhythmic layers permeate the electronic beats while the guitar-driven melodies wander freely from one idea to the next in a stream-of-consciousness bliss."

The album is releasing with Nueva Forma, who I've been with for close to a year now.

For anyone interested in getting their copy, you can purchase here:

NF Shop

You can purchase the full album or individual tracks in either 320kbps MP3 or the lossless FLAC format (best choice - no loss in sound quality).

- Individual 320kbps MP3: $.99
- Individual lossless FLAC: $1.25
- Full Length MP3: $8.99
- Full Length FLAC: $10.99 (best choice : P)

I hope you'll find yourself with this album. It features a lot of music that's not on NG as well as my most solid productions.

Even if you don't plan on buying I recommend checking out the label and what it has to offer. There are free remixes to download as well as the amazing (free) hour long monthly podcast appropriately dubbed: Listening Pleasures. The casts features label mates as well as guest artists.

To any who might be interested. My first album is going to be released through Nueva Forma. A label based out of Portland.

The album itself is coming together nicely and is almost finished up. The album will be released under my actual musical alias "Lapse". I've rehashed and reworked some of the tracks you've heard here on NG. One of my fairly popular pieces "The Silver Monster" has gone through some nice changed, especially in the ending and is now a 7 minute piece fit with guitar and harmonica towards the end! There's also a lot of unheard and new content that has never been heard or released. The theme and tones of the album will be lucid dreaming, dreams, the subconscious, with a bit of astronomy.

I'm excited for it to be finished! I hope fans will share my excitement and be up for a purchase in the near future!

The album will be released as a digital download on the Nueva Forma website:

NF Site

I'll be sending out invites to people who are listed as fans of my stuff when the album has its release. If anyone reads this, however, and is interested in the relase, drop me a comment and I'll be definitely sure to take note of you and let you know!

Take care; stay tuned; keep your ears open.
