Hey-oh

The guitars and all that were great. I dont know about the vocals. Should work on mastering them a different way or adding a different effect to them? They seem to stand out in a weird way.

Either or, love the guitars and the samples. : D

TwilightNecrosis responds:

Hey there!
Yeah, I've gotten better at effecting vocals since I recorded this.
This was just to give you an example of my guitar work.
What samples, by the way?

downloads, votes, listens..

And no ones reviewed! A CRIME! Less they're all your votes : (
So i felt inclined to review. Its not so bad. I really like the more downtempo (yet upbeat) DnB. the song. I liked when the main arp cut out and you could hear the xylophones. That was preeettyyy. My only qualm with it is, i'd make up your own arps! : O The drums werent so bad, they changed up here and there. The song change at the right moment (The xylophones bit). the bass was nice, had a good groove. With some nice filters that the song cuts in and out of, that'd be nice.

Hm..

Its OK. I mean. You did some alright things here and there. However, the drums, in all honesty, don't do much at all. Its really the same hits over and over, repeating for about 3 minutes. Minus the ending area where they just sounded like the break was cut sliced in shorter hits, the beginning was also slightly different...

. I did like how you used the big bass drum hit that was in the song as a part of the beat. I also liked how you filtered out the Fortuna sample in parts, that was nice. However, the song, even with the vocals was a far to monotonous. I read a comment down, you said this is old. So I'd really like to see you retry this and make some more interesting drum patterns, you'd really have yourself something worth listening to. Also, if you were to do it next time you should use the very beginning segment from the song, the nice slow introduction to the intense vocals. That'd be nice. Then add different effects to that.

I know..i know

Its really crap of me to not really 'review' your music.

but saying its "awesome" is my way of reviewing. I know you know what your doing. So there's no need to tell you anything. It all sounds nice.

nubbinownz responds:

same to you man, your production skills are lightyears foward.

Very awesome (of course)

XD

I love the sound of the kick in the beginning. It sounds so clear, yet nostalgic. The sound quality, everything about this song rocks man.

The fucking quote, my god, took my by surprise. I laughed so hard XD. Haha. Worked so great.

oh man, that was one of the coolest little break downs i've heard in a long while (started at 2:06 or so) loved the way you degraded it out. AWESOME.

This song is very nice. You have a great assortment of different drum patterns going on, and that the switch between the break and the old school nes sounding kick is just great. You've definitely got some awesome chiptune sounds. I'm really envious. I dont think i can pull this kind of music off and i want to so bad. >: (

As always, amazing job nub.

SONG SWAP>!>!>!?

beautiful

Of course, nothing else to say, you just deserve 10's and always will from me. Bah-haha!

BIG HAIR

haha nice. I had to hear it when i saw the title. It indeed, reminds me of the eights and some chick in leg warmers, big hair, some gaudy earings dancing around real enthusiastically. I have nothing bad to say about this. Loops nicely. Good job!

DjZombAid responds:

Lol, nice explanation xD.
Thanks ^^.

Nice

Not generally my cup of tea, but it sounds good. I remember you asking me to take a look at your music in one of your reviews on me! So i thought i'd return the favor.

I like the horn at the begining, i imagine everyone stopping quick and staring around trying to figure out what they should do for a moment, then you blast them with the short synth attack and the nice beat. I was about to give a bad score when it ended, i was like "wtfwtf?!" then i read it was just a demo. I'd give it a 9 but its just a demo! : P

oh yes, and i really liked the crowd sample you threw in the mix at the beginning as well, very nice touch. Keep it going, finish this up, it'll sound great.

Wow

Awesome Job. Just awesome. Its cool to see you applying yourself to other genre's / mixing them. Thats always a good fun idea. This sounds great. I'd hope to hear more! Maybe even mix that nice piano and strings in the background with some even harder drums. That'd be even more wild.

good job!

Of course, keep it up.

No1r responds:

Hey!
Yes it's always fun to work in that direction and i tried, here, to mix something sweet with a pretty fast rythm. You're right, drums could be more harder, Rig told me too eheh.
Anyway, i really appreciate your review and the time you spent listening my works.
Thank you my friend.

Nice

Awesome playing man. I really like the feel of this song. I too get the picture of someone on horseback. All in slow motion, hah. With a ratty, tattered long thin scarf blowing in the wind.

Good stuff. Its always nice to not hear crap.

Mutant from the primordial ooze, busking on the streets of the internet. I will be forgotten by time. A temporary fascination. Use me up. I am yours. Help me feel useful...
